Youth Voice Group Facilitator - Albany

Role Purpose

The contractor will provide facilitation to a Youth Voice Group on behalf of Auckland Youth Voice and administrative support to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

The contractor will be expected to:

Mentor and upskill Youth Voice Group members and provide coordination of Youth Voice Group's activities to build their leadership, civic and youth engagement capabilities in a way that is responsive to the Group’s needs.
Support a Youth Voice Group to engage wider groups of young people across their Local Board area in activities which support youth voice, participation, leadership and wellbeing.
Provide Auckland Council and Auckland Youth Voice with regular updates in relation to the Youth Voice Group.
Assist the General Manager and Auckland Youth Voice Board with financial management, reporting and fundraising.
To carry out the above tasks, the contractor must attend two-hour meetings every Wednesday in Albany and complete additional tasks outside of those meetings.

Our Organisation

AYV provides facilitation and fund-holding services for Youth Voice Groups. These are groups of young people funded by Local Boards to provide their Boards with a youth perspective in decision making and deliver events that empower local youth. AYV was established by former YVG members to support these groups. In addition to a General Manager, AYV typically contracts 1-3 facilitators to work directly with YVGs.

Pay

The contract rate for this role is $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, set based on skills and experience. The contract is 5 hours of work per week on average, although this may vary depending on the needs of the Youth Voice Group. The contractor will complete a timesheet and provide monthly invoices to Auckland Youth Voice.

Contract Timeframe

Immediate start to December 2025, with the opportunity for renewal.
